The Transformation of «Boryspil» Under the Approval of Financial Experts

21 March 2018

On March 21st, at the Strategies for Financial Transformation forum, Deputy Director General of the State Enterprise Boryspil International Airport, Kyryl Zvonarov highlighted the experience of overcoming the crisis at the main airport of Ukraine.
Leading financial experts have noticed that Boryspil Airport is one of the few state enterprises, which made an effective transformation of its business model and can be proud of the significant improvement in the performance. Mr. Zvonarov explained how the team, challenged with the new reform, was struggling to find possibilities for adjustments, the development and realization of the new strategy, as well as the obstacles encountered.
Airport’s top manager has, also, noted the role of leadership and teamwork during the transformation of the enterprise.
“Teamwork is the key to successful incorporation of changes within a company. The following traits lead to success: professionalism, motivation, leadership qualities and confidence in achieving the desired result. The team that understands these traits is able to transform the non-lucrative and inefficient enterprise into a profitable airport hub. The success of the reform is not a fateful present, it is a direct result of team effort”, said Kyryl Zvonarov.
As a reminder, in 2017 Boryspil Airport had serviced a record number of passengers – 10,55 million, received 2 billion hryvnia in profit, and paid the total of 1.9 billion hryvnia in state taxes and dividends.
Strategies for Financial Transformation is a business event devoted to “breakthrough” technologies and innovations, where the main financiers of the country discuss changes they would like to see within their area of business. In addition, the financial innovators share the methods for the use of these changes to increase business value, its efficiency and profitability. This year’s event had gathered more than 200 leaders and top managers of the financial sector of Ukraine.
