07 July 2026

In the first half of 2026, 1,211 aviation specialists were trained and upgraded their qualifications at the training centers of Boryspil International Airport, including 1,050 airport employees and 161 representatives of third-party organizations, such as Hall of Official Delegations SE, State Aviation Enterprise Ukraine, ANTONOV COMPANY, Danylo Halytskyi International Airport “Lviv”, SkyUp Airlines LLC, UKRAVIA Airlines LLC, SUPERNOVA AIRLINES LLC, and others. This is a confirmation that the airport’s training centers are among the leaders in the professional training of aviation personnel of Ukraine and are an important component of maintaining the personnel potential of civil aviation.

The training center for ground handling personnel conducted training in the following areas: flight safety, transportation of dangerous goods, aircraft maintenance, solid precipitation removal, passenger service, aircraft de-/anti-icing. After successful completion of the courses, all participants were issued with standard certificates.

The ICAO Aviation Security Training Center of Boryspil International Airport held 56 courses as following: initial training in the basics of aviation security, Course for the Personnel Performing Patrolling and Guarding of Civil Aviation Facilities, Course for Providing Access Control, AVSEC Screening Passengers and Baggage, Air Cargo and Mail Security, and others. At the same time, in the II quarter, the continuous training of 550 employees of the aviation security service continued, using CASRA computer simulators and the X-RAY TUTOR 5 software complex, which made it possible to maintain the appropriate level of qualification of operators in the interpretation of X-ray images.

Regional training courses have become a separate area of work of the ICAO Training Center. In cooperation with the Secretariat of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in the first half of 2026, the center’s specialists held two specialized courses «National Instructors» and «National Inspectors» in Chisinau for representatives of the internal affairs bodies of the Republic of Moldova and employees of the Chisinau International Airport. The programmes combined theoretical training with practical modules, analysis of real cases, group exercises and the practice of professional skills.

Despite the challenges of a full-scale war, the training centers of Boryspil International Airport continue to provide uninterrupted training of aviation specialists, develop the personnel potential of the industry and share Ukrainian experience with international partners. Such knowledge and competences will become an important basis for the safe and effective restoration of civil aviation of Ukraine after the opening of airspace, as soon as the security situation allows.
