15 February 2022
This message was announced on February 14, 2022, live, in a program “Pravo na Vladu”, TV channel “1 + 1”, by Oleksiy Dubrevskyy, Director General of State Enterprise Boryspil International Airport, Adviser to the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine.
“Ukrainian sky is open, Boryspil International Airport operates as normal. We continue to ensure the stable operation of the aviation industry 24/7”, commented Oleksiy Dubrevskyy.
For this purpose, the Government has decided to allocate UAH 16.6 billion from the reserve fund of the State Budget of Ukraine to ensure the safety of aircraft flights within the country’s airspace. The funds will be kept in a separate account of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine and, if required, can be used to ensure the financial security of flights in Ukraine, stabilizing the dynamics of flights.
“As a result, can be considered some positive negotiations between Ukrainian airlines and insurance companies. For example, SkyUp and UIA have completely resumed the tickets sale for flights that were previously canceled”, mentioned the Director General of Boryspil International Airport.
“We are in constant communication with our international partners and Ukrainian business representatives. Today, the map of air flights and airspace of Ukraine does not differ from the map of the last week or month. The main foreign carriers fly, as they did before”, noted Oleksiy Dubrevskyy.
Low-cost carriers, such as WizzAir and Ryanair, as well as network carriers such as Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian, Turkish Airlines, LOT continue their operation. AirBaltic has even added frequencies to their flights.
