Boryspil International Airport actively cooperates with international partners to ensure aviation security and passenger safety

On 25 July 2024, Boryspil International Airport hosted a working meeting between CEO Oleksiy Dubrevskyy and Nobuyuki Kikuchi, Minister-Counsellor, Permanent Mission of Japan to the International Organizations in Vienna and a delegation of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). The UNODC delegation included Van Den Berghe, Deputy Chief of the Passengers and Cargo Border Team (PCBT), UNODC, Oksana Nazarchuk, UNODC Law Enforcement Expert and Naida Chamilova, UNODC Regional Coordinator. The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Kyiv Separate Checkpoint of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (SBGS).This is not the first visit of the UNODC team to the airport, as cooperation with Boryspil Airport has been active for two years. The UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) also continues to implement a wide range of ongoing initiatives for the relevant border agencies in Ukraine, which is why the main topic of the meeting was the improvement of border security and the needs of Boryspil Airport in this process. After all, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) is also working to expand its efforts to help strengthen border control measures in Ukraine.The meeting addressed the issues of ensuring an adequate level of aviation and passenger security, strengthening border control measures during crisis situations and crisis management in general, and outlined ways to respond to possible critical situations.
