Boryspil International Airport held a discussion regarding further cooperation in the field of aviation security with UNODC and Japanese partners

On March 11, 2026, representatives of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the Embassy of Japan in Ukraine and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) visited Boryspil International Airport. The visit took place within the context of the further developing cooperation and the determination of possible directions of support by international partners.

Representatives of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and the State Customs Service also took part in the meeting.

During the meeting, airport representatives informed the foreign delegation about the state of the infrastructure at Boryspil International Airport, measures taken to maintain operational readiness, as well as the key challenges and needs that the enterprise faces within wartime and preparation for post-war recovery.

Foreign partners deem Boryspil International Airport as an important platform for the development of international cooperation in aviation security and risk management areas.

The parties paid special attention to the consideration of potential directions for interaction in future. In particular, it was about the possibility of implementing joint initiatives in the matters of aviation security, risk management and implementation of modern international practices.

Cooperation with UNODC and Japanese partners will contribute to the implementation of modern security standards, international risk management practices and preparing the airport to effectively operate after the resumption of flights», — Oleksiy Dubrevskyy, CEO of Boryspil International Airport pointed out.

Japan remains one of Ukraine’s key partners in infrastructure restoration, and UNODC expertise will facilitate the implementation of international best practices in aviation security at Boryspil airport.

Boryspil International Airport highly values the support of international partners and continues an active dialogue with international organizations and diplomatic institutions to strengthen security, develop infrastructure and gear up for the restoration of air traffic as soon as the security situation allows.
