Boryspil International Airport Hosts Uklon Innovation Week, Showcasing Remote Driving Technology to Students, Business Leaders, and the IT Community
14 July 2026
Boryspil International Airport, in partnership with Uklon, hosted Innovation Week dedicated to the future of mobility. Over the course of several days, a series of events took place at the airport, where participants explored Ukraine’s first remote driving technology currently undergoing research and pilot testing.
The project is being implemented by Uklon in partnership with Boryspil International Airport, which serves as the testing ground for the new technology. Remote driving represents an important milestone on the path toward autonomous transportation, with the potential to improve transportation safety, optimize logistics, and enable next-generation mobility services.

On July 7, the event brought together students and faculty members from the Kyiv Aviation Institute, Kyiv School of Economics, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, National Transport University, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, and SET University. An important partner of the event was INSCIENCE, an organization dedicated to promoting science, evidence-based approaches, and critical thinking, while fostering collaboration between academia, research, and business.
Participants learned about the principles behind remote driving technology, observed a live demonstration, and discussed the future of autonomous transportation, digital mobility, and new models of collaboration between technology companies and strategic infrastructure. The event provided an open platform for dialogue between students and professionals working to develop future transportation solutions.

On July 9, representatives of Ukrainian product technology companies, the logistics sector, agribusiness, and investment funds joined the discussion. The event was held in partnership with Diia City United. Participants were welcomed by Uklon CEO Serhii Hryshkov and Oleksiy Dubrevskyy, CEO of Boryspil International Airport. They highlighted the potential of autonomous mobility in Ukraine, the importance of remote driving technology, and the role of cooperation between the technology sector and the country’s largest airport in advancing innovative solutions. Guests also witnessed a live remote driving demonstration and discussed potential real-world applications of the technology across various sectors of the economy.

“Even during wartime, we must think not only about preserving infrastructure but also about its future. Boryspil International Airport strives to be a platform where innovation, education, technology businesses, and public institutions come together. This is how we create an environment capable of ensuring not only the recovery of aviation but also the development of Ukraine’s next-generation transportation system,” said Oleksiy Dubrevskyy, CEO of Boryspil International Airport.
The partnership between Boryspil International Airport and Uklon demonstrates how combining the expertise of the technology sector with the capabilities of strategic infrastructure creates new opportunities for innovation in Ukraine. The events brought together students, businesses, investors, researchers, and industry experts to discuss technologies that are already shaping the future of transportation.

For Boryspil International Airport, developing innovation partnerships is an important component of its long-term strategy to prepare for the eventual resumption of aviation operations and the implementation of advanced technological solutions. The airport remains committed to supporting projects that strengthen Ukraine’s innovation ecosystem and accelerate the integration of cutting-edge technologies into the transportation sector.
Innovation Week once again demonstrated that, even in times of war, Ukraine continues to serve as a platform for developing high-tech solutions. Partnerships between business, academia, the scientific community, and strategic infrastructure continue to lay the foundation for the transportation ecosystem of the future.

The initiative follows the launch of the project on May 27, 2026, when Uklon first presented its remote driving technology to representatives of government authorities, local authorities, and the media. During that event, the company announced the launch of Ukraine’s first research and pilot testing program for remote driving technology, implemented in partnership with Boryspil International Airport.
