Boryspil International Airport summarized the results of the training of aviation specialists in 2023

More than 2,700 specialists in the aviation industry were trained at the training centers of Boryspil International Airport during 2023 including 2,481 employees of Boryspil Airport itself and 178 employees of third-party organizations. We would like to remind you that there are three training centers at Boryspil Airport: the ICAO Aviation Safety Training Center, the training center for ground handling personnel and the Canine (dog training) center.

Throughout  2023, Boryspil International Airport was constantly maintaining all necessary international certificates, as well as developing new courses aimed at improving aviation security. In particular, the course curricula were developed taking into account all types of challenges and threats in accordance with international aviation and passenger security standards.

The Annual Training Plan of the ICAO Aviation Security Training Center of Boryspil International Airport provided for 90 courses on various topics, and in fact 116 training courses were held in 2023, as well as a workshop on risk factor management and a security culture workshop under the auspices of ICAO. The courses are aimed at improving the knowledge and skills of the employees, and are also designed to maintain a high level of qualification of the staff against new types of threats that appear daily in international airports around the world.

Moreover, in 2023, Boryspil International Airport took an important step towards improving aviation security by signing a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of airport security with Culmen International, a leading company in the field of international security and technological solutions. From July to December 2023, in cooperation with Culmen International 520 aviation security specialists were trained and tested using the X-RAY TUTOR 4 computer training program developed by the international company CASRA (CENTER FOR ADAPTIVE SECURITY RESEARCH AND APPLICATIONS).

Maintaining the qualifications of Boryspil Airport staff is the key to the ability of a quick resumption of airport operations as soon as it becomes possible on security issues. It is regular exercises that enable specialists in the aviation industry of Ukraine to continue to maintain a high standard of their professional activities and be ready for a quick resumption of flights and keep up with current trends in the field of aviation security.

As a reminder, Boryspil International Airport maintains 6.5 thousand personnel certificates, 21 licences, 14 certificates for aviation and related activities, 5 environmental permits and 30 permits for various types of high-risk activities (labour protection), which were gained  in strict accordance with the accepted procedures and international standards.
