Boryspil International Airport summed up the results of aviation industry specialists training in 2024

More than 2 700 aviation industry specialists were instructed, trained and refreshing trained at Boryspil International Airport training centres in 2024, including 2,460 Boryspil Airport employees and 267 employees of other organisations. The aviation industry specialists had the opportunity to undergo training at three training centres operating at Boryspil Airport, i.e. ICAO Aviation Security Training Centre, Ground Handling Training Centre and Canine Training Centre.
Boryspil International Airport continues to pay special attention to the training and advanced training of aviation industry workers. In 2024, a wide range of specialists necessary to ensure the safety and efficiency of the airport joined training courses, e.g. the ICAO Training Center for Aviation Security of the Boryspil International Airport State Enterprise conducted 136 training courses (vs. 88 courses that were scheduled according to the annual Training Plan), and in March 2024, certified instructors of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) held a workshop under the auspices of ICAO on risk factor management in the context of aviation security. Moreover, in 2024, 550 employees of the airport Aviation Security Department were theoretically and practically trained and tested on the “CASRA” computer simulators under the “X-RAY TUTOR 4” and “X-RAY TUTOR 5” training programs (developed by CASRA, i.e. the Center for Adaptive Security Research & Applications) on the basis of the ICAO Aviation Security Training Center.In addition, in 2024, training courses were conducted for 1,048 airport employees in 19 areas, including: rules for the transportation of dangerous goods by air, vehicles driving for the ground transportation of crews, passengers, baggage, cargo and mail, safety management system, aircraft de-/anti-icing procedures, environmental management, etс., in the Ground Handling Training Centre.
Besides maintaining specific skills and knowledge in the aviation industry, the airport employees continue to improve in other fields. In particular, 82 managers received theoretical and practical training on providing first aid in various areas in order to further train their direct employees. It should be noted that all employees of the medical centre were trained by the Ukrainian Association of Ambulatory Medicine Doctors as part of the continuous professional development of medical professionals. Furthermore, 37 airport employees received functional training and special training in civil protection. Also, the Emergency Rescue and Fire Protection Department staff is constantly working to consolidate, update and acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and professional qualities to ensure the successful performance of assigned tasks. The training programme of the Department includes 228 training hours.
The training courses were conducted using modern techniques and methods, allowing to adapt them to the current needs of the aviation industry. Developing the skills and maintaining the professional level of staff is a key aspect of readiness for the resumption of flights. After all, airport personnel are the main resource that will ensure high-quality and safe service when air traffic is resumed.
