Boryspil International Airport supports ICAO initiatives to strengthen the culture of aviation security: a workshop for experts in the aviation industry was held

On October 24 – 27, 2023, on the basis of the ICAO Training Center for Aviation Security of Boryspil Airport, a workshop on security culture was held under the auspices of ICAO – the International Civil Aviation Organization as agreed with the ICAO Headquarters (Montreal, Canada), and in accordance with “Plan for conducting aviation security courses at the ICAO Aviation Security Training Center in 2023” approved by the State Aviation Administration of Ukraine.
Boryspil International Airport continues to conduct regular training and maintain personnel skills, in particular in the field of aviation security and flight safety. In addition to employees of Boryspil International Airport, representatives of Danylo Halytskyi International Airport Lviv, the State Aviation Service of Ukraine, ANTONOV SE, Ukraine SE, ZOD SE, Wind Rose Airlines, Skyline Express Airlines and others also studied at the workshop.
Boryspil International Airport continues to conduct regular training and maintains the skills of its personnel, in particular in the field of aviation security and flight safety. In addition to Boryspil International Airport employees, the workshop was also attended by representatives of Danylo Halytskyi Lviv International Airport, the State Aviation Administration of Ukraine, ANTONOV Company, Ukraine SE, ODH SE, Windrose Airlines, Skyline Express Airlines and others.
The workshop was conducted by certified ICAO instructors on the basis of and at the initiative of the ICAO AvSec Training Center. The Security Culture Workshop was scheduled for 2023 and agreed with ICAO Headquarters and is being held in Ukraine for the first time with the involvement of representatives of airports, airlines and other Ukrainian organizations and enterprises that are directly or indirectly related to aviation security and flight safety.
This workshop is one of the constituents of the ICAO Global Aviation Safety Plan (GASeP) being a part of a global campaign to promote a security culture, which will include national, regional and international events aimed at increasing awareness in the field of aviation security. The training is aimed at senior and middle managers of the authorized state aviation security authority, airports, airlines, police, border guards and other stakeholders involved in aviation security.
Through interactive exercises that enhance practical skills, participants learned how to develop, implement and maintain a strong and positive security culture in their organizations across their various areas of work. The Workshop also contributes to strengthening ICAO’s cooperation with all states and the aviation industry to support a security culture in the wide aviation community, where security is responsibility of everyone. Upon successful completion, all participants received the relevant international certificates provided by ICAO Headquarters.
