Boryspil International Airport upgrades skills of aviation industry specialists: training results for the first half of 2024

In the first half of 2024, Boryspil International Airport conducted professional training, practicing and refresher training of 1516 aviation specialists, including 1298 airport employees and 218 employees of third-party companies (Chernivtsi International Airport named after L. Kadeniuk, UkSATSE, WindRose Airline, LLC, Ivano-Frankivsk International Airport Branch of Skorzonera, LLC, Ukraine SE, Main Aviation Coordination Centre for Search and Rescue of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, Antonov, JSC, etc.)
It is important to note that in June this year, the airport management was trained in the SGHA-SLA and Effective Negotiation Behaviours course conducted by IATA (International Air Transport Association) and aimed at understanding the changes that have taken place in the latest release of the Standard Ground Handling Agreement. The course focused on advancement of knowledge of the new standards of ground handling agreements, explanation of legal aspects and their application when concluding agreements with both airlines and ground handling agensies. Thanks to this course, the airport will move to the updated 2023 version of the Standard Ground Handling Agreement, which will ensure accuracy in the conclusion of agreements, as well as negotiate more efficiently with the aviation market participants.During the first half of 2024, the ICAO Aviation Security Training Centre of Boryspil International Airport conducted 73 training courses under 13 training programmes, 7 of which were specially developed by instructors of the ICAO Aviation Security Training Centre of Boryspil International Airport in accordance with the current conditions and new challenges. In addition, in March 2024, the ICAO Aviation Safety Training Centre under the auspices of ICAO held a workshop on risk factor management, within the framework of a key course to suitable and effective risk assessment and ensuring the highest safety standards.
In addition, during the first half of 2024, the instructors of the ICAO Aviation Security Training Centre trained 545 airport aviation security employees and 113 security specialists of third-party entities on CASRA computer simulators using the X-RAY TUTOR 4 training programme (developed by CASRA – Centre for Adaptive Security and Applications Research).
In particular, the Boryspil Airport Training Centre provided initial, refreshing and advanced training for airport employees who operate vehicles on the airfield, perform aircraft maintenance, handle cargo and mail, and provide passenger services. All training programmes are approved by the State Aviation Administration of Ukraine. Continuous training, refresher training and professional development of employees is one of the priorities of the airport activity and an important condition for retaining highly qualified personnel in the aviation industry of Ukraine.
