Comprehensive training was carried out for emergency response teams together with the General Administration of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Kyiv region at Boryspil International Airport

On September 28, 2023, emergency rescue teams (ERT) of Boryspil International Airport, together with the representatives of the General Administration of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU) in the Kyiv Region, conducted national-level training at the airport’s training ground. The training takes place according to the Plan of basic measures of civil protection for 2023, approved by Order No. 370-r of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated April 25, 2023.
Besides rescue teams of the GA of the SESU in the Kyiv Region, the “Mobile Rescue Center” SE of the SESU, specialists of the Kyiv regional organization of the Red Cross Society of Ukraine, and the Kyiv regional center of medical aid and disaster medicine took part in the training.
“Boryspil International Airport is of strategic importance for the economy and infrastructure of the state. ERT training in a difficult wartime period is part of the airport’s large-scale systemic work to ensure and build a new level of flight safety and aviation security, constant support of personnel skills and knowledge for further resumption of aviation operation,” commented Oleksiy Dubrevsky, Director General of Boryspil International Airport.
Rescue teams practiced joint actions during the expected landing of an emergency aircraft, emergency landing of an aircraft and liquidation of consequences (extinguishing aviation fuel), ground search operations, sorting of victims and providing medical assistance. In addition, emergency rescue teams worked out the evacuation of victims from a height. According to the results of the training, interaction and coordination between the management bodies and rescue teams operating means of the aviation search and rescue system, were worked out.
The training of rescue teams on the airport’s training ground is an important element of staff training to resume flights as soon as the situation permits.
