08 February 2023

On February 7th, 2023, the medical center of Boryspil International Airport hosted a charity blood donation campaign – willing employees could donate their blood, which will be sent to military hospitals.

Blood sampling was carried out by the Kyiv City Blood Center. Thanks to the donors of the airport, it was possible to collect about 30 liters of blood, which is 60 doses for the recovery of wounded soldiers. According to statistics, one blood donor can save the lives of three people.

Among the airport workers are those who donate blood on a permanent basis. Honorary donor Tverdokhlib Taras, a firefighter of the airport’s emergency rescue and fire protection service, has been donating blood for more than 30 years to the needs of the victims: “It is not difficult for me to be a donor, I understand very well that now blood is urgently needed for the wounded soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as for civilians injured by shelling.”

“We asked our employees to join the charity blood donation campaign for the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” said Nataliya Cherenok, the head of the medical center of Boryspil International Airport. – We were amazed by the number of people willing to donate blood and are very grateful to our employees. The blood we collected will go to city hospitals and military hospitals.”

Charity blood donation campaigns for the Armed Forces with the participation of employees of the Boryspil International Airport will continue in the future.
