Members of Association Airports of Ukraine discussed current issues and challenges of the aviation industry at Boryspil International Airport

On 21 August 2024, Boryspil International Airport hosted a general meeting of the members of Association Airports of Ukraine of civil aviation (AAUCA). The event was attended by the representatives of the Ukrainian aviation industry – Boryspil, Kyiv (Zhuliany), Lviv, Poltava, Cherkasy airports, the State Aviation Administration of Ukraine, ANTONOV Company and others. Representatives of the ICAO Institute (International Civil Aviation Organization) at the National Aviation University made a separate presentation on aviation security at the meeting of the Airports Association.

During the event, the participants discussed current issues and challenges faced by the aviation industry of Ukraine in the field of regulatory and legal regulation of aviation security in accordance with modern needs, professional training of aviation security specialists, improvement and modernization of aviation security equipment. In particular, it was noted that work is currently underway to establish common standards and rules in the field of aviation security and flight safety with the European Union. In addition, it was outlined that it is important to constantly support ICAO Aviation Security Training Centers, as they play an important role in the formation of a reliable system of aviation security and passenger safety, as well as maintaining the qualifications of aviation security specialists. As a reminder, Boryspil Airport has an ICAO Aviation Security Training Centre, which in the first half of 2024 conducted 73 training courses under 13 training programs, 7 of which were specially developed by the certified instructors of the ICAO Boryspil Airport Training Centre in accordance with the current conditions and new challenges. In total, in the first half of 2024, Boryspil International Airport provided professional education, training and retraining to 1516 aviation specialists.
