Boryspil International Airport Awarded Prestigious Certification by CIPS

Boryspil, [12 DECEMBER 2023] — Boryspil International Airport, Ukraine’s largest airport, proudly announces its receipt of the Primary Award certification from the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS), the largest professional body in the world for procurement and supply management.
Being the first state enterprise in the aviation industry In Ukraine to achieve the Primary Award certification for its procurement system aligning with the global standards of CIPS, Boryspil International Airport has set a historic milestone.
The Primary Award certification affirms the airport’s transparent, efficient, and ethically-focussed procurement system. This achievement is a crucial step toward the future sustainable development of Boryspil International Airport, validating that its procurement system operates at a high standard for all partners, governmental and international financial institutions, and investors, as emphasized by Alexander Kubrakov, Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction and Minister of Community Development, Territories, and Infrastructure of Ukraine.
Participating in the pilot project of the Ministry of Community Development, Territories, and Infrastructure of Ukraine for assessing risks and auditing corruption prevention systems, Boryspil International Airport has implemented a compliance system aligning with international business standards. This includes updates to the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, the development of new procurement strategies and policies, and the introduction of anti-corruption measures.
The certification of the airport’s core procurement processes for compliance with international standards, national legislation, and ethical norms was successfully completed in record time. The airport made all necessary changes and improvements to its procurement processes during the certification process, also updating its procurement strategy for 2023-2026 in line with the Institute’s certification requirements.

The successful certification confirms that the procurement activities at Boryspil International Airport are organized in accordance with the highest international standards in procurement and supply management. The certification program was developed by CIPS as the world’s largest professional organization setting benchmark standards for procurement and supply chain functions at all levels, and has worked with leading global organizations such as the European Central Bank, UBS, Bank of England, BAE Systems Air, American Express, Xerox Corporation, and in the airport sector, certified entities include Abu Dhabi Airports, London Luton Airport, Manchester Airports Group, among others.
