Oleksiy Dubrevskyy, CEO, presented Boryspil Airport Infrastructure Development Plan was presented by Oleksiy Dubrevskyy, the airport CEO, at the GICC 2024 Conference in Seoul

In September 10-12, 2024, the Global Infrastructure Cooperation Conference (GICC) 2024 was held in Seoul, the Republic of Korea, which brings together international companies and institutions from 30 countries. This event promotes new partnerships between countries and businesses for the development of global infrastructure. The Conference is held by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of Korea (MOLIT) and the International Contractors Association of Korea (ICAK). Its goal is to strengthen the partnership between Korean construction and engineering companies and key global stakeholders.

Oleksiy Dubrevskyy, Boryspil Airport CEO, attended the Conference at the invitation of Mr. Park Sang-woo, Minister of Land Use, Infrastructure and Transport of the Republic of Korea. The airport leader presented his vision of the airport infrastructure reconstruction and development. In his speech, the Director General presented key projects of airport infrastructure modernization to which potential and willing investors have an interest in the development of strategic sectors of Ukraine’s economy, in particular the aviation industry.In his speech, Oleksiy Dubrevskyy emphasized the strategic role of Ukraine’s main airport, which will continue to be crucial for the country’s economic recovery and the stable development of air traffic in the future. Despite the fact that Boryspil Airport is currently not
operating regular aviation activities, it must remain and be equipped with cutting-edge infrastructure in order not to lose its competitiveness after the sky opening, as soon as it becomes possible in terms of flight and passenger safety. It should be noted that the development and modernization of the airport is part of a strategic plan that began to be implemented before the full-scale invasion.

“Our goal is to become a high-tech European hub that will increase the investment attractiveness of Ukraine,” Oleksiy Dubrevskyy stressed in his speech. “The war has suspended the active upgrading and refurbishment of the airport infrastructure, but we continue to work on attracting investments right now, establishing ties with our partners, in particular with leading Korean companies such as Hyundai Engineering & Construction and Korea Airports Corporation (KAC), not waiting for the end of the war. We must be prepared to resume quickly, as soon as security issues make it possible”.In addition to the main presentation, on the sidelines of the Conference, Mr. Oleksiy Dubrevskyy, Boryspil Airport CEO, held separate project working meetings with representatives of the largest Korean companies and corporations specializing in the implementation of large-scale international high-tech projects for the comprehensive modernization of airport infrastructure. Among them are KIND, Samsung Engineering & Construction, Daewoo Engineering & Construction, Dohwa Engineering Co., Gansam, Kunhwa Engineering and Consulting, Yooshin Engineering Corporation, Ssangyong Engineering & Construction Co., Korea Airports Corporation, Seoul Guarantee Insurance Company, and others. At these meetings opportunities for cooperation and investment attraction for the implementation of Boryspil Airport modernization projects were discussed.

At that, attention was focused on the importance of sustainable development and innovations that will enable the airport to compete successfully in the future and provide its passengers with the highest level of service and flight safety.
