Results of aviation specialists training at the training centers of the Boryspil International Airport for 9 months of 2023

For 9 months of 2023, the training centers of Boryspil International Airport conducted training, and refreshing training for 2,170 specialists of the Ukrainian aviation industry, including ,004 employees of Boryspil IA and 166 employees of third-party organizations (ODH SE, KYIVRIANTA, LLC., Columbus Handling LLC., ANTONOV SE, Aerohandling LLC., Ukraviaservice LLC, Head office of State Special Communications).

Just during the 3rd quarter of 2023, 628 specialists (including 599 employees of the airport, 29 employees of third-party organizations) were trained in the training centers of the airport under the training programs: ” Initial training on the basics of aviation security”, “AvSec in airside and restricted access areas”, ” AVSEC Basic Training Identifying Behavioral Characteristics”, “Rules for the transportation of dangerous goods by air transport”, ” Course for the Personnel Performing Patrolling and Providing Access Control”, “Training of drivers of various categories of vehicles”, etc. All training programs are approved by the State Aviation Service of Ukraine. Upon successful completion of the training courses, all participants are given certificates under the established standard.

Moreover, the ICAO Aviation Security Training Center of Boryspil International Airport conducted 26 training courses (93 courses since the beginning of 2023), and a workshop on risk factor management (under the auspices of ICAO).

May we remind you, on September 10, 2023, Oleksiy Dubrevskyy, the CEO of Boryspil International Airport and Dan Berkon, Director General of Culmen International, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of security at the airport. Boryspil International Airport has been cooperating under this Memorandum with Culmen and CASRA (Center for the Study of Adaptive Security and Applications) since July 1, 2023, when X-RAY TUTOR 4 (XRT4) training was introduced using CASRA computer simulators to develop skills of AvSec personnel in recognizing X-ray images when screening hand luggage, baggage, cargo and mail.

By now, 298 employees of the aviation security service have passed the initial testing and are continuing their training under the X-RAY TUTOR 4 program, among them: screeners, instructors, supervisors at security checkpoints and others. The number of hours spent by employees in the simulator exceeds 1,500 hours in total.

Continuous and regular training of employees and their skills upgrading is one of the key priorities of the enterprise. Therefore, today the airport continues to provide personnel with necessary means to quick recover and launch the airport to its routine operation in the shortest possible time.
