Oleksandr Pavliuk

A baggage handler-driver.

He was born on 10 February 1975. He worked at the airport for 5 years. When going to the war, Oleksandr said: ‘I am going to the war so that my children do not go fight there’.

In September 2023, CNN journalists wrote about Oleksandr’s heroism and resilience (callsign PAN) . At that time, he was fighting in the Zaporizhzhia direction.

Colleagues remember Oleksandr as follows: ‘He was sincere and kind, always frank and incredibly hardworking. He was one of those who would do any job without hesitation if necessary. In November 2022, he voluntarily joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. We will always remember Oleksandr as a courageous and indomitable warrior, a reliable colleague and a sincere person. He was a real Man!’

He died on May 12, 2024, at the age of 49 in Donetsk region.
