Roman Dykiy
An engineer on electrochemical protection, Plant Engineering.
He was born on February 11, 1997.
When russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine began, he could not stand aside and in March 2022 joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine as a volunteer .
In July 2023, he was wounded during a combat mission and, after treatment, he wanted to return to his comrades –in-arms as soon as possible to drive the russian occupiers out of his homeland.
In November 2023, senior soldier Roman DYKIY was awarded a certificate of Honor from the command of the 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Lieutenant General Mark Bezruchko.
Junior Sergeant Roman Dykyi was awarded the distinction of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine “FOR WOUNDING” in February 2024, and in May 2024 he was awarded the distinction of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine “Iron Cross.”
Colleagues recall: ‘He proved to be a high-qualified specialist, had excellent professional competencies and necessary knowledge and skills and constantly improved his professional level. He was respected by our team.’
He died at the age of 27 on August 3, 2024, defending Ukraine in Donetsk region.
