Valeriy Karpenko

Valeriy was born on 30 August 1978. He worked at the airport for 15 years and for more than 10 years he worked as an Operator of technical control devices.

Colleagues remember Valeriy with the words: “That was a kind, sincere, calm, responsible, friendly person with a keen sense of justice, who was always there to help.”

After the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Valeriy joined the Volunteer Formation of Boryspil Territorial Community No. 1. In 2023, he joined the ranks of the National Guard of Ukraine. He took part in battles in the Bakhmut district, Pokrovsk, and Sloviansk. In 2024, Valeriy was honored by the command for his conscientious approach to perform his military duty, for his diligence, and reasonable initiative.

On 22 August 2025 he died at the age of 46 while defending Ukraine in the Donetsk region.
